WHY IT EXISTS

The moment disappears. The record should not.

Seren spirit rewards arrive as a brief line in a fast-moving RuneScape chat box. Without a structured archive, useful information is scattered across screenshots, memories, and isolated conversations.

This project turns those moments into a durable public dataset. Each record can be explored by reward, contributor, quantity, value, date, and proof, allowing the community to study the table as it is actually observed.

How a sighting becomes public data

Four small steps turn a temporary chat message into a record anyone can inspect.

The server normalizes the reward, checks freshness, suppresses duplicates, and stores an integrity hash.

What the tracker does not need

The companion is a pixel-reading Alt1 app, not a RuneScape account integration. It does not ask Jagex for access to your account.

No RuneScape passwordNo account login or authentication credentials are requested.
No full chat archiveUnrelated conversations are not intentionally submitted as part of the record.

What is a Seren spirit?

A Seren spirit is a skilling encounter in RuneScape that can award an item after the player interacts with it.

Is Seren Spirits affiliated with Jagex?

No. Seren Spirits is an independent community project and is not affiliated with or endorsed by Jagex Ltd.

Does the proof guarantee a drop was never edited?

The screenshot and transcript provide inspectable evidence of the captured chat line. The stored SHA-256 hash verifies that the archived file has not changed after receipt, but no screenshot system can make an absolute claim about events outside the captured evidence.

Can I contribute anonymously?

Yes. The app supports a RuneScape display name or a server-assigned Anonymous #TAG. The tag separates contribution history without revealing a RuneScape username or installation identifier.

How are repeat captures handled?

The app creates a stable event signature from the contributor, timestamp, quantity, and canonical item. The server also rejects matching event fingerprints.

Are displayed GP values historical?

No. Displayed values use the current cached Grand Exchange price, so the represented value can move as prices change.
